Community Trust Futsal coach and Teacher Ian Parkes is celebrating his call up to the England futsal squad for their vital preliminary qualifying group in October against Latvia, Cyprus and San Marino.
The mini-tournament, hosted by Latvia, is played over four days, with the group winners progressing alongside the best runners-up to the main qualifying round in December to form seven new groups of four nations each. The top two from those groups will then go into the play-offs.
These consist of group winners drawn against the runners-up to form seven two-legged ties played in March and April of next year. The aggregate victors qualify for the final tournament of Twenty-four teams, including seven European qualifiers, who will compete in Thailand from 2 to 18 November 2012.
Good luck Ian!
